BreezeFinder — Privacy Policy

The short version: BreezeFinder has no accounts and no servers of its own. We don't collect, store, sell, or share your personal information. Your location is used only to look up the weather for the spot you're checking, and it never reaches us — only the weather and map providers that answer the request.

What we collect

We collect nothing on a server, because we don't run one. BreezeFinder is a static web app that runs entirely in your browser or installed app. Specifically:

Location. When you tap "find me" or select a place, your approximate coordinates (latitude/longitude) are used to request weather and map data. This happens live and is not recorded by us.
On-device storage. Your recent places, your chosen mode (just me / dog / kids), and map preferences are saved in your device's local storage so the app remembers them. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can clear it any time by clearing the site's data or uninstalling the app.
No accounts, no tracking. There is no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no cookies used for tracking, and no third-party trackers.

Who receives your location, and why

To show weather and maps, your approximate coordinates are sent directly from your device to the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices and may log request information (such as IP address) as described in their policies:

We only send the coordinates needed to answer your request. We do not attach your name, an account, or any identifier — because we don't have one.

Children

BreezeFinder is a general-audience weather utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. You remain in control of the data on your own device (recent places and preferences), which you can remove at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR or California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding personal data — but those rights primarily concern the third-party providers above, since BreezeFinder itself holds none.

Security

All data requests are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because there are no accounts and no server-side storage, there is no password or personal database to breach.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new version will be posted at this URL.
